October 2025 Updates

October was a big month at PVFARM. We rolled out smarter design tools, sharper analysis features, and smoother workflows to help you make better solar project decisions, faster. From AI upgrades that understand your layouts more intuitively, to realistic shading objects and seamless PVSyst exports, every update is aimed at one thing: turning complex project work into clear, confident steps. Oh, and grading just got a serious glow-up too.

Needle Movers First: Strategic Early Decisions That Define Solar Project Success

First 10% That Defines 90%. The early decisions in a solar layout set the stage for cost, yield, and constructability. In this webinar, we explored high-leverage choices across civil, electrical, structural, and performance modelling, and showed how iterative, cross-disciplinary exploration helps teams lock in value and avoid costly redesigns.

Shading Objects. Design and Realistic Results

Bring your layouts closer to reality with new shading objects: Box, Tree, and Wall.

Easily adjust their size and place them on the terrain to simulate real-world shading effects on your solar panels. Enable more accurate performance analysis and better design decisions!

Export to PVSyst. Even More Seamless with COLLADA files

Our connection with PVSyst just became even smoother.

Until now, we have already supported exporting the entire layout as SHD file and the terrain surface as CSV file. Now, with the addition of shading object export in COLLADA (DAE) format, you can fully reproduce your layouts in PVSyst with all essential elements included.

This makes the workflow between platforms truly seamless — from site, to surface, to shading.

Property Analysis. Shading Heat Map

We’ve introduced a shading heat map to help you better evaluate your project site.

Now you can instantly see which areas and objects are most affected by shading, identify potential risks, and understand the impact of terrain or nearby shading structures on your layout.

This gives you clearer insights for smarter design decisions and more reliable performance forecasts.

Civil UI & In-App Help

We’ve refreshed the UI for grading and piles optimization to make your workflow smoother and more intuitive.

Plus, new in-app help illustrations provide visual guidance, giving you deeper insights and tips for civil design right where you need them.

Grading. Even More Accurate Earthworks

Our already industry-leading earthworks solvers are now even sharper and faster. With improved algorithms and upgraded solvers, your calculations are more precise than ever! Now, combined with the new interface, our civil part is even more powerful and user-friendly.Enjoy the enhanced workflow and precision!

Leading Edge. Precise Ground Clearance Control

Part of our advanced civil approach is the Leading Edge feature, which allows you to control the distance between the terrain and the PV module edge line, ensuring optimal ground clearance and more accurate pile length calculations.

Piles Configuration UI

You can now fully customize piles, including custom names, that will appear in your PDF reports, allowing for clearer documentation and more flexible design options.

Skid Positioning. Smarter Placement

We’ve enhanced skid positioning to better match real-world scenarios. PVFARM can automatically reposition a skid if it ends up outside the site boundary, ensuring accurate and practical layouts.

Equipment. Replace & Align

You can now manually replace trackers across the entire layout or just selected ones in the scene.

Plus, new alignment tools let you easily align trackers relative to each other for a cleaner, more precise layout.
